This rubric is for a grade 8 pillow project in which 8 different sewing techniques were demonstrated: Layout, Pinning, Cutting, Top Stitching, Seams, Seam Finishing, Embroidery and Hand Sewing.

Many sewing techniques demonstrated in pillow require improvement. Sewing techniques are lacking proficiency.
Basic/Minimal
Intended competency to demonstrate sewing techniques is not evident. Not all techniques were attempted.

Project construction was correctly shaped and aligned. Seams match correctly. The project has a polished look and is pleasing to the eye.

Project has few problems with shaping and alignment. Seams intersect closely. The project has been completed with attention to detail.
