Average Most paragraphs give clear reasons for the writer's opinion, but some are repetitive or unclear.	Excellent The paragraphs present the writer's opinion and reasons clearly and logically. One idea flows into the other.
Elaboration	Inadequate There are no facts or examples to support the writer's opinion.	Below Average The facts and examples are unrelated to or do not clearly established the writer's opinion.	Average Most facts and examples support the writer's opinion clearly.	Excellent All facts and examples provide strong support for the writer's opinion.
Clarification	Inadequate The writer includes several confusing or unnecessary ideas to create a rambling essay.	Below Average The writer includes some confusing and unnecessary information.
