Speaking Assessment Phone Call Speaking Assessment Phone Call This rubric will be used to evaluate phone calls in the event that a student is absent during oral presentations in class. As speaking is a large part of learning any foreign language, it is vital that all students complete speaking assessments. Greetings and Leavetakings 5 points.	Mal Student does not use greeting in the language being assessed and they are inappropriate for the audience.	Asi-Asi Student uses greeting but not in the language being assessed/or the greetings are not appropriate for the topic or audience.	Muy bueno Student uses greetings /or leave-taking appropriate for the topic and audience.	Fantastico! Student using appropriate greetings and leave-takings for the topic and the audience. (formal or informal)
Vocabulary 10 points.	Mal Student does not include sufficient vocabulary to show understanding of the topic.	Asi-Asi Student includes few of the vocabulary words related tot he topic and / or vocabulary is not used in the appropriate context.	Muy bueno Student includes many vocabulary words related to the topic in the appropriate context.	Fantastico! Student includes a large variety of vocabulary related to the topic in the appropriate context.
Grammar 10 points.	Mal Student is making an effor to speak the language, but it is not comprehensible.	Asi-Asi Student is able to be understood, but the are many errors in word order and aggreement.	Muy bueno Student is able to speak in mostly complete sentences, with few mistakes in word order, and most nouns have verb and adjective aggreement.	Fantastico! Student is able to speak in complete sentence with proper word order, and aggreement of nouns, verbs, and adjectives.
Natural- Sounding 10 points.	Mal Student is reading from a paper as there are no natural utterances, inflections in the voice.	Asi-Asi Student sounds natural but there are long pauses without natural utterances or filler phrases in the language.	Muy bueno Student sounds natural, is not reading off a paper, but there are not filler phrases present.	Fantastico! Student sounds natural, is not reading off a paper, includes natural utterances and filler phrases in the language being assessed.
