Element 2 Records solution strategies	Below Standard Student shows little or no understanding of math concept	Meeting Standard Student shows thinking using words, numbers, and pictures. Explanation includes most of the steps, has appropriate number sentence, pictures match the story. Shows understanding of math concept	Exceeding Standard Student shows thinking using words-explaining step by step how the problem was solved, has appropriate number sentence, pictures match word explanation and number sentence. Shows clear understanding of math concept.
