Craftsmanship	Excellent Student took extra care and put much time into carving stamp	Good Student took care and put adequate time into carving stamp	Fair Student did not put as much effort or time into carving stamp.	Poor Student did not put any effort or time into the stamp. More time could have been spent on developing the artwork.
Function	Excellent Student's stamp is clear. the carving is nice and deep and clean of excess clay bits.	Good Student's stamp is mostly clear with few flaws. Clay might not have been cleaned out well from the ink site.	Fair Student's stamp is legible, but shows several flaws.	Poor Student's stamp is not legible and has several flaws.
Difficulty	Excellent Student chose a Kanji design that is challenging to the student. Excellent Effort.	Good Student chose a Kanji symbol that is somewhat challenging for the student.
