The Mechanics of Music
The Mechanics of Music
In this unit, “The Mechanics of Music”, students will break down the components of reading music. They explore and analyze note and rest values, melodic note (letter names), rhymes (raps) associated with the identifying notes for the treble clef and bass clef of the music staff. They will also explore the music symbols necessary to read music notation, fingering, slide, keyboard positions, stick grips and how instruments produce their characteristic sound. A PowerPoint slide presentation and note/rest value matrix will be the student generated products.
