Students will research their adopted element and determine the following: abbreviation, atomic number, atomic mass, periodic table group, state at room temperature, boiling point, melting point, whether it exists naturally or is synthetic, its source, whether it is essential to life, its common (and uncommon) uses, any hazards involved in using it, and its history including when, where, and by whom it was discovered.
