Day 1: Kite Flying

Poor

Student did not follow directions while kite flying. He/she did not share kites. His/her behavior was off- task and little learning took place.

Student followed most directions while kite flying. Student shared kites. His/her behavior was on-task most of the time. Student has an idea of how he/she will design his/her kite.
Good

Student followed all directions. Student shared kites and his/her behavior was on-task the whole time. Student learning took place. Student has clear ideas of how he/she will design his/her kite.
Day 2: The Design

Poor

Student did not finish blueprint or did not include important details. Design was not clearly drawn.
Fair

Student finished blueprint but may not have a clear design in tact or may not know why he/she designed his/her kite that way.
Good

Student finished blueprint and has a clear design in tact including reasons why he/she choose the particular design.
Day 3: Constructing

Poor

Student did not finish his/her kite in the allocated time because of off-task behavior. Student had trouble working with other students.
Fair

Student kite was constructed in the allocated time. Student may have shown some off-task behaviors.

Student's kite was constructed in the allocated time. Student worked well with others. No off-task behaviors were sighted.

Student was able to answer only 1 or 2 of the assessment questions.
