I am giving everyone full credit for the physical portfolio since we were unable to see them together. Course Performance This is a tool to evaluate the course requirements for this class.
	Excellent Performance is excellent and shows exemplary growth and effort. 100 pts	Good Performance is very good and shows significant growth. 85 pts	Fair Performance accomplishes the basic requirements of the course. 75 pts	Poor Performance is below the basic requirements of the course. 65 pts
Printmaking Technique 20 % Technical Mastery of Medium	Excellent Significant achievement in gaining mastery of the printing process. Strived to advance understanding of the process by time and effort that is demonstrated in print. Advanced growth and understanding of the properties of paper, color, and proofing. Takes risks and goes beyond basic assignment expectations.	Good Techniques improved significantly. Show a growing understanding of color properties and potentials of layering color, registration, editioning and proofing. Growing understanding of the properties of paper, color, and proofing.	Fair Techniques have remained level. Progress in print quality is generally acceptable but some uneven treatment of color, registration, and exploring proofing is developing but could be stronger, more even, and further explored.	Poor Techniques are problematic: messy, careless, uneven, and underdeveloped prints. Editioning is limited and proofing is rarely used to adjust color, registration. Paper handling-careless.
Physical Portfolio 15 % Quality of presentation of editions and proofs	Excellent Prints are fully editioned, are organized, curated and signed properly for presentation. Proofs are also included that show experimentation to advance the final portfolio. Glassine paper is interleaved between prints. A portfolio supports the body of work for safe storage.	Good Prints are fully editioned and organized, signed and curated. Proofs are provided that demonstrate efforts for adjustment to edition. Glassine is interleaved between prints and a portfolio supports the body of work.	Fair Prints are editioned, signed, and curated. Proofs are provided but are not distinguishable from the edition. Glassine is interleaved between prints and a portfolio is provided.	Poor Prints are editioned are inconsistent or sometimes fall short of a full edition. No proofing is attempted to develop a strong edition. Materials other than glassine are interleaved between prints.
Class Culture/Contributions 25 % Timeliness of work for critiques and care and respect of studio	Excellent Is in class and is always prepared to work, or to present work for discussion/critiques. Contributes thoughtfully and attentively to critiques. Treats studio--screens, sinks, other people's property with respect for others and quality of work environment. Helps others when necessary. Fair Usually prepared for class, but has fallen behind at times. Sometimes contributes to critiques/discussions but if sometimes unprepared or distracted from class discussion. Generally careful in studio and takes care of own work.	Poor Is not prepared for class discussion and critiques of work. Often distracted during class discussion, critiques, treatment of the studio and/or other people's work.
Digital Portfolio 25 % Quality documentation of artwork.	Excellent High resolution quality images are presented and on time for review. Examples of proofs are provided when relevant. Writing/reflection provides insights into influences, artists, and problems and processes are presented verbally and in writing.	Good Generally quality images are presented on time for review. Examples of proofs are provided. Writing is provided on each piece that gives insights into work.	Fair Images are generally acceptable but could reflect the pieces more effectively--color is off, edges are not well attended to.	Poor Images are badly presented and could reflect the pieces more effectively--color is off, edges are not well attended to, and the portfolio is not uploaded by the final deadline.
Artistic Exploration 15 % Thought and risk taking with the medium	Excellent Challenges the medium by exploring assignments with engaged exploration of thought, ideas, materials, and historical inquiry of medium and personal vision. Articulates these through the piece as well as language.	Good Explores the medium and advances your understanding of the potentials of it for personal and artistic exploration throughout the prints.	Fair Maintains an ongoing concept that keeps you exploring the medium. Begins to articulate as to how your ideas are either brought to or taken from the printing process.	Poor Little connection to the historical or personal content that engages exploration of the medium. Risk taking and responsibility of medium & content is weak
