Novice

Student has not worked on memorization of lines, lyrics, and/or choreography.
Developing

Student has worked on a portion of the memorization of lines, lyrics, and/or choreography.
Proficient

Student has completed the memorization of lines, lyrics,and/or choreography and has been able rehearse off-book.
Exceeds

Student has been able to rehearse without script and promptings while creating believable line delivery.
Use of time - rehearsal

Students spend time in class on task during the rehearsal process.

Novice

Student is often off-task. Side conversations are heard.
Developing

Some of the rehearsal time is spent on the scene. Some changes are made in actions and vocal presentation.
Proficient

Student is on task. Each time the scene is repeated changes are not made to improve the scene.
Exceeds

Student is on task. Each time the scene is repeated changes are made.
Re-rehearsal

The scene is developed to a performance level with changes made which attempt to solve the identified acting problem.

Novice

Much time is spent off task. Little or no changes are made.
Developing

Some changes are made. The majority of the time is spent in reworking the scene.
Proficient

The final scene is somewhat different from the first playing. Some strides have been made to correct the acting problem identified.
Exceeds

The final scene is significantly different from the first playing. Strides have been made to correct the acting problem identified.
