Students will learn how to classify cells as prokaryotic or eukaryotic and distinguish eukaryotic cells as plant or animal in an interactive technology tutorial (Nearpod)
Knowledge Constructor: Students critically curate a variety of resources using digital tools to construct knowledge, produce creative artifacts and make meaningful learning experiences for themselves and others.
Computational Thinker: Students develop and employ strategies for understanding and solving problems in ways that leverage the power of technological methods to develop and test solutions.
Students will use Google Slides to create a powerpoint presentation detailing the findings of their research done in the Nearpod lesson. Students will include a title page with all five student names, a page comparing prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells, and a page comparing animal and plant cells. Students will add images and labels to assist in their presentations. Powerpoints should be neat and understandable.
Students will work in their groups of 5 to present their powerpoint of findings to the classroom. Students will each have an active participation role in the presentation. Students will then answer questions regarding their presentation and have a discussion with their fellow peers.
