Volleyball Rubric

Passing	Novice hands were apart, body in upright position, did not call, lift, ball was	Competent weight on heels, elbows were bent, ball was playable for teammates, some control of ball	Proficient body in low athletic stance, weight on balls of feet, knees bent, called mine, hands together, ball went towards target, control of the ball	Expert body in low athletic stance, weight on balls of feet, knees bent, called mine, hands together, ball went towards target, control of the ball, pass had a purpose
Setting	Novice hands were apart, body not in athletic position, lift, no control of ball	Competent made a triangle, hit ball off of palms (not fingers), some control of ball	Proficient body in athletic position, made a triangle for hands, called mine, weight on balls of feet, good follow through, control of ball to target	Expert body in athletic position, made a triangle for hands, called mine, weight on balls of feet, good follow through, control of ball to target, pass could spiked, pass had a purpose
Serving (overhand or underhand)	Novice failed to hit the ball, eyes were not on the target, just swings at the ball without purpose	Competent makes contact with the ball consistently, occasionally gets the ball over the net, occasionally follows through	Proficient consistently makes contact with the ball at their waist for underhand and can attempt overhand serves, the ball goes over the net consistently	Expert serve almost always goes over the net, consistently males contact with the heel of the hand
