Create a Story Elements Story Bug Create a Story Elements Story Board The student will demonstrate how to successfully summarize the main events of a story while creating a graphic organizer to highlight story elements. 1.Neatness	Fair Student produced text written sloppy with many noticeable errors.	Good Student produced somewhat legible text.	Excellent Student produced legible, neatly written text with no noticiable blemishes in his/her work.
2. Plot	Fair Student did not produced 1-2 sentence summary of the plot. It is unclear if the student understands.	Good Student produced 1-2 sentence summary of the plot. The sentences show that the student somewhat understands the plot of the story.	Excellent Student produced a well written 1-2 sentence summary of the plot. It is clear that the student understands the plot of the story.
3. Main Characters	Fair Student failed to include a listing of the characters.	Good Student listed most of the characters in the story. Student may have listed characters that were not important to the story plot.	Excellent Students listed all the main characters in the story.
4. Setting	Fair Student did not indicate the setting.	Good Student indicated the time or place the story took place, but not both.	Excellent Student indicated the setting (time and place).
5. Extended Ending	Fair Student's story ending did not follow the original story. The story had more than 5 grammatical errors.	Good Student's story ending properly extended the original story but lacked creativity . The story had 2-4 grammatical errors.	Excellent Student's story ending creatively extended the original story and was entertaining. There were less than 2 grammatical errors.
