A Model Planet in Our Solar System A Model Planet in Our Solar System Students are beginning a new science unit on Planets and other objects in Space. For our project, students will take their knowledge of our solar system and create a 3-dimensional or 2-dimensional model of a planet assigned to them. The planet should be clearly labeled in some way. Students are encouraged to use color and to get creative while learning. This project is worth 50 points and is due March 11. A Model of One Planet
	Poor 5 pts	Good 7 pts	Excellent 10 pts
Planet is clearly labeled	Poor No labels are present, very difficult to find, or difficult to read.	Good Label is present, but they may have been difficult to find or handwriting could have been improved.	Excellent Label is clearly present and is easy to read.
Creativity	Poor Very little or no creativity.	Good Some thought has been put into the project.	Excellent There is a large amount of creativity being shown. Imagination has been used when designing the model.
On Time	Poor Planet was not completed on time or not completed at all.	Good Planet project was late.	Excellent Planet project was on time.
Correct style	Poor It is not in 3 or 2 dimensional form. It is not in the correct color.	Good It is in 3 dimenstional form. The planet is close to the correct color.	Excellent The planet is in 3 dimensionall form. It is the correct color.
Presentaion	Poor The presentaion was not clear and did not explained how the model was created. The presentor did not tell facts about the planet.	Good The presentaion was somewhat clear and explained how the model was created. The presentor told a few facts about the planet.
