This project is a summative assessment over the craft and structure of informational text. Learning objectives for the unit should be covered in the project/ this rubric provides the guidelines that assess your knowledge and application of that knowledge.

Student documents and analyzes four words/phrases (examples from the text) that the author chose to convey the tone of the text. Student uses evidence form the text to support the examples.

Demonstrate how the author makes his or her own ideas stand out from others. This includes attitude, as well as, word choice and meaning (figurative, connotative and technical).

Student is able to capture the point of view of the author by analyzing word meaning, chosen ideas and details, or defining the purpose of the writing. Student submitted less than four pieces of evidence from the text to support his/her claims.

Student is able to capture the point of view of the author by analyzing word meaning, chosen ideas and details, and defining the purpose of the writing. Student must submit at least four pieces of evidence from the text to support his/her claims.
Above Proficiency

Student is able to capture the point of view of the author by analyzing word meaning, chosen ideas and details, and defining the purpose of the writing. Student must submit at least five pieces of evidence from the text to support his/her claims.
