Thesis Statement	Advanced Thesis is strong and found at the end of the first paragraph. Thesis presents a clear topic for the rest of the paper.	Proficient Thesis is present and in the proper place. Thesis expresses the main topic, however it is not as strong as it could be. Thesis does not fully express the main topic.	Partially Proficient Thesis is missing or not a true thesis. Thesis does not relate to the paper or express the main idea of the paper.	Unsatisfactory No thesis or main idea is stated.
Paragraphs/Organization	Advanced Each paragraph flows to the next paragraph. Paragraphs follow a logical order. Ideas are logically separated into paragraphs. Paragraphs are correctly indented.	Proficient Some paragraphs flow to the next paragraph. Most paragraphs follow a logical order. Paragraphs are occasionally indented correctly.	Partially Proficient Paragraphs do not follow a logical order. Paragraphs are out of order. Ideas are not logically categorized in paragraphs. Paragraphs are not correctly indented.
