(Evidence of the use of the Writing Process - prewriting, drafting,revising, editing, and publishing)	Fair Reader has difficulty following work because student jumps around.	Good Student presents information in logical sequence which reader can follow.	Excellent Information is in logical, interesting sequence which reader can follow.
Elements of Literature	Poor Student does not have the four elements of literature in the story (characters with descriptions, setting(s) distinct plot, overall theme.	Fair Student has one or two elements of literature in the story.	Good Student has three elements of literature in the story.	Excellent Student has all four elements of literature in the story (characters with descriptions, setting(s), distinct plot, overall theme).
Grammar and Spelling	Poor Story has four or more spelling errors and/or grammatical errors. (subject/verb agree., pronoun /antecedent agree., etc.)	Fair Story has three misspellings and/or grammatical errors.	Good Story has no more than two misspellings and/or grammatical errors.	Excellent Story has no misspellings or grammatical errors.
Neatness	Poor Story is illegible.	Fair Story has three or four areas that are sloppy.	Good Story has one or two areas that are sloppy.	Excellent Story is neatly done.
