Speak clearly, properly, politely, and recognize the difference between formal
and informal language.

Advanced

Speaks clearly using formal language, emotion, excitement, and pauses when needed. Looks at the audience most of the time, referring to notes occasionally.
Proficient

Speaks audibly, using some slang.
Uses some emotional expression in voice tones, and looks up at the audience from time to time.

Speaks quietly. Listener has to work to hear.

Does not give one or more of the following:
1- an accurate account of the plot.
2- main characters
3- author or book name
4- opinion of the book
Unsatisfactory

Is unable to tell the plot of the story in any detail.

Raises hand, allows others to ask questions, and focuses attention on speaker when they are speaking. Questions asked are thoughtful and show evidence of attention to peer presentations.

Raises hand , allows others to ask questions, and focuses attention on the speaker most of the time.
Does not distract others in any way during presentations.
Partially Proficient

Blurts questions, or makes statements about another student's story, instead of asking pertinent questions.
Unsatisfactory

Does not pay attention while other students are giving their report, or distracts others by talking.
