Board Surface/Activation
Poor
Surface is coarse making it difficult to read and write with whiteboard pen. Activation must be done by computer. No pressure or electromagnetic activation.

Soft plastic surface. Easy to use write whiteboard tools (pens, eraser, & ect). Pressure activated.

Hard plastic surce. Very smooth to the touch. Easy to write on surface. Electromagnetic activation.

Soft flim, easily susceptible to damage. Accidental use of pen can be removed with non-abrasive cleaner.

Firm film covering makes is easier to remove accidental pen damage but traces of marks can remain even after using a non-abrasive cleaner.

Solid surface makes whiteboard robust. Accidental pen can easily be removed with a non-abrasive cleaner.
Pens

Only a special pen can be used on the whiteboard. Writing with a finger will not work. Pens require batteries.

Both pens and fingers can be used to write on the whiteboard. No batteries required. Pens activate when they leave tray.

Projection is somewhat clear. When looking at the interactive whiteboard you can tell there is some distortion but mostly clear.

Projection is crystal clear. Looking at the interactive whiteboard is as clear as watching a flat screen tv.

Must purchase most of software separatly from interactive whiteboard. Training is available, but also costs extra.

Standard software is included with purchase of interactive whiteboard. Additional training costs extra.
