Hypotheses Making a light bulb light with given materials	Poor No hypothesis was suggested. Suggestion was made that was illogical and offered no evidence of thought.	Fair One (1) hypothesis was made illustrating some thought.	Good More than one (1) hypothesis was made giving full explanations as to how the light bulb will light and why.
Diagrams of first circuits Diagrams of proposed circuits	Poor A very sloppy, almost illegible diagram was made with no labels or explanations.	Fair A diagram was made but it had only a few labels and very little explanation.	Good A thought provoking diagram was made with all parts labeled and full explanation offered for why the light bulb light.
Diagram of second circuit Diagrams of second circuits	Poor The second diagram was a duplicate of the first or very close that no changes were apparent.	Fair The second diagram was different from the first but it had very few labels and very little explanation. Notes on Classroom Discussion Notes from classroom discussion questions	Poor Very few notes were taken. The notes were almost illegible and very sloppy.	Fair Notes were taken over what was discussed in class.	Good All questions and answers were recorded and outlined. They are legible, orderly and complete.
