"The Birds" Story Ending Story Ending The students will write a resolution for "The Birds" based on foreshadowing details and given character traits. Acceptable Character traits shown in story only used minimally in characters' actions (for example: ending includes Nat using a gun when Nat said earlier it would be useless).	Excellent Uses the character traits shown in the story to guide characters' actions.
Plot	Needs Work Resolution does not show any understanding of details from original storyline.	Acceptable Resolution only slightly connects to details and flow of original storyline.	Excellent Resolution is consistent with details and flow of original storyline.
Grammar and Mechanics	Needs Work Written ending shows excessive errors. (5+ errors present)	Acceptable Written ending shows many errors in Standard English grammar usage and mechanical errors.
