At grade level-3 Good use of pictures and writing to describe/symbolize the characters feelings before and after the game in chapter 6.	Above grade level-4 Superior use of ideas and pictures that go beyond the expectation. Show evidence of higher level thinking.
Uses pictures/symbolism	No effort-1 Pictures that do not relate to the character or the event.	Little effort, not consistent-2 Only a few pictures that represent/symbolize the character.	At grade level-3 Good use of symbols and pictures that clearly relate to the character and the event.	Above grade level-4 Superior use of symbols and pictures that show evidence of higher level thinking.
Writing connects with the pictures.	No effort-1 No connection between pictures and writing.	Little effort, not consistent-2 Some connection of writing and pictures.	At grade level-3 Good connection between pictures and writing. Clearly shows that the student understand what is going on with the character in the story.
