Average You applied the elements of both realism and symbolism in your self-portrait.	Very Good Your self-portrait was created as both realistic and symbolic. You expressed the symbolic using a variety of media.	Advanced Your self portrait represented an image that was both realistic and symbolic. You took care in creating your image, expressed creativity and used a variety of media.
Knowledge of Vocabulary Words	Poor You did not do any of your vocabulary definitions.	Fair You looked up some of your vocabulary words.	Average You looked up all of your vocabulary words, but did not write sentences.	Very Good You looked up all of your vocabulary words, and wrote a sentence for each.	Advanced You look up all your vocabulary, wrote a sentence for each and personalized it.
Artist Statement	Poor You did not write an artist statement.	Fair You wrote a brief artist statement under 100 words.	Average Your artist statement discussed your art, but gave limited details. Your statement was under 250 words.	Very Good Your statement was 250 words and gave details discussing artwork.
