Panels *Each panel represents a book chapter.	Distinguished There are at least 10 panels in the comic book. Each panel contains at least one picture and at least three speech bubbles.	Proficient There are 7-9 panels in the comic book. Each panel contains at least one picture and two speech bubbles.	Apprentice There are 4-6 panels in the comic book. Each panel contains at least one picture and one speech bubble.	Novice There are less than 3 panels in the comic book. Each panel contains at least one picture and no speech bubbles.
Summary & Sequence	Distinguished The comic book shows strong knowledge of plot development and is presented in the correct sequence.	Proficient The comic book shows knowledge of the plot and presents key events in proper sequence.	Apprentice The comic book shows limited plot information and little sequence is evident.	Novice Reader cannot understand comic book. No sequence is evident.
Bubbles	Distinguished Thought/speech bubbles are present and clearly reveal the character's thoughts/words.	Proficient Some thought/speech bubbles are present and clearly reveal the character's thoughts/words.	Apprentice A few thought/speech bubbles are present and somewhat reveal the character's thoughts/words.	Novice No thought/speech bubbles are present or do not reflect the character.
