Illustrations/Story line	Ready for publication! The illustrations directly relate to the words on the page and are appropriate for the page in size and text. Art is thoughtful and well designed.Story line is creative and interesting.	Very good The illustrations mostly fill the page and are appropriate for the text. Story line is clear and story is interesting. The order of events and cause-and-effect are obvious.	Fair The illustrations do not enhance the page or appearance of the story.Evidence of a story line, but may be illogical or disconnected.	Needs improvement There are pictures missing. The pages are incomplete.The book has no real story.
Questions	Ready for publication! Author wrote all 5 questions. At least one question can only be answerd by "putting ideas together", not just looking for a sentence in the text. Accuracy of language and Characters	Ready for publication! Near flawless use of grammar and mechanics, There are no wrong characters anywhere in the book. Characters are neat, square, and legible. Very Good Many logical connectors used, though there are one or more errors in choice of a logical conector, or some may be missing in places where a Chinese speaker would add them.	Fair Author attempted to use logical connectors but there are relatively few, and/or they are used incorrectly.	Needs improvement No logical connectors used in the story. Sentences are like individual sentences just placed in a row, without connection between them.

Recording	Ready for Publication Recording is confident, smooth and evenly paced. Tones are overwhelmingly correct with one or two errors, mostly in expressive parts. The message was submitted to the google classroom.	Fair Recording includes the entire story without dropping any words. There are some uncomfortable pauses or the reading is halting.
