Dental Hygiene My Healthy Body Unit This dental hygiene lesson is developed for kindergarten students in a self-contained special needs classroom. This rubric has been developed to meet the needs of students with alternative modes of communications. 	Level 4 4 pts	Level 3 3 pts	Level 2 2 pts	Level 1 1 pts
Healthy food vs, un-healthy food 5 pts	Level 4 Student is able to correctly categorize 10 or more foods as healthy/un-healthy when asked, or shown pictures of foods.	Level 3 Student is able to correctly categorize atleast 5 or more foods as healthy/un-healthy when asked, or shown pictures of foods.	Level 2 Student is able to correctly categorize atleast 2 or more foods as healthy/un-healthy when asked, or shown pictures of foods.	Level 1 Student is unable to correctly categorize any foods as healthy/un-healthy when asked, or shown pictures of foods without full assistance from the teacher.
Teeth 5 pts	Level 4 Student is able to discuss/answer correctly 6 out of 6 essential questions involving their teeth, good healthy foods for their teeth, and proper caring for their teeth (using their individual mode of communication).	Level 3 Student is able to discuss/answer correctly atleast 4 out of 6 essential questions involving their teeth, good healthy foods for their teeth, and proper caring for their teeth (using their individual mode of communication).	Level 2 Student is able to discuss/answer correctly atleast 2 out of 6 essential questions involving their teeth, good healthy foods for their teeth, and proper caring for their teeth (using their individual mode of communication).	Level 1 Student is unable to correctly answer any of the 6 essential questions involving their teeth, good healthy foods for their teeth, and proper caring for their teeth (using their individual mode of communication).
