Household Chemistry Project 
In this project you will investigate the chemistry of common household products. You are responsible to do: • Choose one personal hygiene product • Choose one household cleaning product • Use (http://householdproducts.nlm.nih.gov/index.htm) to research any six ingredients from each product (total of 12 chemicals) to do the following: o Determine the empirical formula o Determine its use or purpose o Determine its chemical and physical properties. o Determine any hazards or cautions associated with the ingredient. • Create a self-contained presentation of your research. Your display must include the following components: o An esthetically pleasing appearance o The title “Household Chemistry…” & creative sub-title. • Pictures of your products • An introduction. This should be a written paragraph introducing the idea that chemistry is instrumental in the development and improvement of many of the products that we use every day.
