Fourth Year Piano Assessment Rubric Fourth Year Piano Assessment Rubric This is a PIANO RUBRIC to assess my students whether they have mastered or if they are growing towards mastery for this second quarter. It is a big help for me and also to my fellow students so that I can be able to distinguish and identify they're difficulty and what areas I can improve upon. Fourth Year Piano Assessment This is an assessment to let me see what concepts you have mastered and what concepts you are struggling with.
	Poor A POOR performance is one that shows little to no mastery of concepts. 1 pts	Fair A FAIR performance is one that shows some mastery of concepts. 2 pts	Good A GOOD performance is one that shows an adequate amount of mastery of concepts. 3 pts	Excellent An EXCELLENT performance is one that shows complete or steady growth toward mastery of concepts. 4 pts
Position of Fingers 20 pts Is the position of fingers are correct in pressing the black and white keys?	Poor The position of fingers is completely improper. The performer shows irritability and nervousness while doing the activity.	Fair The position of fingers is still inaccurate. The performer shows nervous and tense while doing the activity.	Good The position of fingers is slightly observed, but it has to be improved. The performer shows a little nervous while doing the activity.	Excellent The position of fingers are totally correct and shows confidence while doing the activity.
Rhythm 5 pts Is the rhythm accurate or inaccurate?	Poor The rhythm is completely inaccurate. The performer has difficulty reading rhythms.	Fair The rhythm is still highly inaccurate with some minor improvements.	Good The rhythm is at an acceptable level, but could still be improved.	Excellent The rhythm is nearly outstanding in every detail.
Recognition 10 pts Can the performer identify the key concepts in the song, as described in the chapter?	Poor The performer does not recognize any major part of the music.	Fair The performer can identify some minor aspects of the music.	Good The performer can identify most aspects of the music.	Excellent The performer can identify every aspect of the music.
Notes 15 pts Are the notes accurate or inaccurate?	Poor The performer cannot play the correct notes.	Fair The performer still cannot play the notes completely correct, but has minor improvements.	Good The performer can play the notes with some ease.	Excellent The performer can play 98%-100% of the notes correctly with ease.
