Resume Writing Resume Writing and Cover Letter Construct a resume based upon a future job that you would like to prepare for. The purpose of this assignment is to begin to brainstorm about your future, including identifying a college choice, and considering a support system, or select individuals you can use as references. Content and information 60 % Resume must have all pertinent information.	Excellent Resume contains correct personal information Objective Work or volunteer experience Education * Resume must reflect what position you are applying for. Cover Letter serves as a sales pitch, has correct address to where it is going, describes how you are the best person for the job, and a gives a description of your education and experience.	Good Resume is missing some information but contains most essential Resume must reflect what position you are applying for. Cover letter is missing one of the elements.	Fair Resume is missing 2 categories of information Resume must reflect what position you are applying for. Cover letter is missing two of the elements.	Poor Resume is missing more than 2 categories of information *Resume must reflect what position you are applying for. Cover Letter is missing three or more of the elements.
Format 20 %	Excellent Margin is flush and clean Individual points bulleted *Categories well defined.	Good *Either categories are not clearly defined or points not bulleted.	Fair *Does not follow clear and concise format.	Poor *Does not follow clear and concise format and resume is poorly written.
Spelling/Grammar 10 %	Excellent *Assignment is complete and without any spelling errors.	Good *Assignment is complete and has only two or three spelling errors.	Fair *Assignment is complete and has only five or six spelling errors.	Poor *Assignment is complete but has many spelling errors.
Attractiveness 10 %	Excellent * Text fonts & sizes are well chosen, exceptionally attractive, neat work.	Good *Text fonts & sizes are readable, attractive format.	Fair * Some effort to make text fonts and sizes readable, attractive, however, it is difficult to read, in an unattractive format, or not neat.	Poor * Text fonts are difficult to read, or distracting and unattractive.
