Design a Simple Machine Design a Simple Machine Design and construct a simple machine (wheeled vehicle) using new and recycled materials. Original Idea	Excellent Original design was for a simple machine with only a few moving parts. Able to be constructed easily from available materials.	Good Original design was for a simple machine with only a few moving parts. Able to independently adapt design during the construcion process.	Fair Original design too complex. Needing assitance to adapt design during construction process.	Poor Original design too complex and unable to be constructed from available materials.
Journal	Excellent Evidence of at least 4 journal entries, describing the construction process, including any modifications that were necessary during the process.	Good Evidence of up to 3 journal entries, describing the construction process, including many modifications that were necessary during the process.	Fair Evidence of 1 or 2 journal entries, describing the construction process, and some modifications that were necessary during the process.	Poor Evidence of 1 or 2 journal entries, which may describe the construction process.
Problem Solving	Excellent Able to work through problems that occur and are able to solve them with minimal guidance from peers or the teacher.
