Welding Final Rubric Welding Final Rubric Students will use SMAW and GMAW welding techniques to weld butt weld, t-weld, lap weld, using 6011 & 6013 electodes Rubric Code: N2W72X6 By wilmerzollman Ready to use Public Rubric Subject: Vocational Type: Assessment Grade Levels: 9-12

Welding Final Combination of 2 Lap Welds, 2 T-Welds, and 1 Butt Weld. Half SMAW and Half GMAW

Weld width and height: 100 % Uniform width and thickness throughout the entire length of each weld.	Advanced Bead is uniform width all along the length of each weld. Has a smooth appearance	Proficient Bead maintains width and length. Shows some small blemishes along the weld	Basic Not a uniform thickness through out the weld. Thickness goes to extremes	Below Basic Weld is cut off in places, not uniform along the weld. Shows bare spots	Total Points
Appearance 100 % Smooth with uniform dense ripples, doesn’t show the bead traveling to fast or slow	Advanced Weld shows a constant speed and uniformity the entire length	Proficient Weld shows a constant speed with some blemishes that are minimal	Basic Weld shows definite areas of speeding up and slowing down. Ripples tend to be coarse	Below Basic Weld has been done to fast or to slow. Weld is not complete	Total Points
Face of bead: 100 % Free of voids and high spots, shows uniformity throughout the bead	Advanced Has a nice rounded look. Is not overly high, or low. Bead covers a wide area of each weld. Penetration 100 % Complete without burn through	Advanced Weld penetrates deep into the metal and adds strength and fusion to the edges and depth.	Proficient Weld penetrates deep but does not re surface through the bottom of a jointed welds	Basic Weld is uneven in depth, lacks uniformity along weld length.
