May have many smudged ink areas, or (and) some areas of too much ink. Student may have attempted to color in shapes but ends up coloring multiple shapes the same color rather than just one.
Meets standards

Most of the painting is neat, may have only a few smudges. The student has colored in most of the selected shapes not getting color into the other shapes around it.
Exceeds standards

Painting is not smudged. Black ink has been applied to create pleasing Shapes and are colored in staying only in the shape selected.
