Invention Requirements	Exceeds the Standards The model is made up of 2 or more different simple machines. Machine works properly and to its fullest ability.	Meets the Standards The model is made up of only 1 simple machines. Machine works but not to the fullest of its ability. Has some small issues.	Does Not Meet the Standards The model is made up of no simple machines. Machine does not work properly.
Work quality/effort	Exceeds the Standards The work done exceeds all expectations and shows that the learner is proud of the work. Students are well prepared and work is neat and clean, well constructed materials and physical construction.	Meets the Standards The work was done with good effort that shows what the learner is capable of. It is evident that time was put into this task. Students are prepared, work completed in a sufficient/neat manner with good materials and construction.	Does Not Meet the Standards Work is done with little effort, quality is not what the learner is capable of. It is evident that the work was rushed and little time was spent on the final product. Work is incomplete. Students are not well prepared and work is sloppy.

Students show strong understanding for the relationship of the task and how the machine helps do work.
