Exceeds Standard

Students behavior and attitude during class is always exceptional. Student is always putting forth fantastic effort and contributing positively to rehearsals and lessons.
Meets Standard

Students behavior and attitude during class is good. Student is usually putting forth good effort and contributing positively to rehearsals and lessons.
Partially Meets Standard

Students behavior and attitude during class needs some improvement. Student occasionally puts forth good effort and contributes to rehearsals and lessons.
Does Not Meet Standard

Students behavior and attitude during class is poor. Student seldom puts forth good effort. Student contributes negatively to rehearsals and lessons through lack of focus by talking and distracting others.
Preparation/Organization

Exceeds Standard

Student is highly organized and shows this through proper instrument care and keeping track of all materials needed for class. Student comes to class on time and uses every minute allotted wisely.
Meets Standard

Student is mostly organized but could improve upon proper instrument care and/or keeping track of all materials needed for class. Student is rarely tardy and uses most of their class time wisely.
Partially Meets Standard

Student is somewhat organized but needs to improve upon proper instrument care and/or keeping track of all materials needed for class. Student is sometimes tardy and/or uses some of their class time wisely.
Does Not Meet Standard

Student is NOT organized and needs to improve upon proper instrument care and/or keeping track of all materials needed for class. Student is frequently tardy and does not use their class time effectively.
Embouchure

Exceeds Standard

Student plays with the correct embouchure/hand position for his/her instrument.
Percussion students play with correct grip and hand position.
Meets Standard

Student mostly plays with the correct embouchure/grip/hand position for his/her instrument.
Partially Meets Standard

Student struggles to maintain the correct embouchure/grip/hand position for his/her instrument.
Does Not Meet Standard

Student does not play with the correct embouchure/grip/hand position for his/her instrument.
Posture

Exceeds Standard

Student plays with correct posture all of the time.
Meets Standard

Student plays with correct posture some of the time.
Partially Meets Standard

Student rarely plays with correct posture.
Does Not Meet Standard

Student never plays with correct posture.
Attendance

Exceeds Standard

Student attends all rehearsals and lessons.
Meets Standard

Student attends most rehearsals ans lessons.
Partially Meets Standard

Student sometimes misses rehearsals and lessons due to tardiness/skipping.
Does Not Meet Standard

Student often misses rehearsals and lessons due to tardiness/skipping.
