Cohesiveness of Essay	Poor Structure of essay is incoherent with no clear flow from one section to the next. No clear stance is taken. There are 0-1 supporting reasons with no research evidence to back the reason.	Fair Essay is moderatly coherent with some flow and each part is loosely connected to the next. There is a stance, but it is not clearly stated. There are 2 supporting reasons with research to back 1-2 of the reasons.	Good Essay is coherent. There is a natural flow to the writing, where the progression to one part to the next is a logical connection. There is a clear and precise stance taken. There are at least 3 supporting reasons with research evidence to back all the reasons.
Use of Persuasive Elements	Poor Through the lack of reason, the paper does not successfully argue the perspective and does not convince the reader of the stance.	Fair Through the use of some reason, the paper argues a perspective without fully convincing the reader.	Good Through use of much reason, the paper achieves it's goal of persuading the reader.
Length	Poor The essay has at least 1 paragraph with the correct number of sentences. Each paragraph must contain an opening as well as a closing statement..
