	A 10 pts	B 8 pts	C 6 pts	D/F 5 pts
Tone Quality	A Rich, warm, full, focused tone.	B Warm, full, focused tone with minor variance in sound.	C Tone fluctuates due to variance of bow lanes.	D/F Tone is not present throughout.
Intonation	A Accurate intonation with correctly spaced intervals.	B One pitch missed with accurate intonation.	C Two pitches missed with acceptable intonation.	D/F Three or more pitches missed with constant incorrect intonation.
Technique	A Posture, left hand position, bow position, and playing technique are characteristic of quality playing.	B Posture, left hand position, bow position, and playing technique are acceptable.	C Posture, left hand position, bow position, and playing are in progress.	D/F Posture, left hand position, bow position, and playing technique are not identifiable.
Pulse and Rhythm	A Steady pulse is maintained at a tempo characteristic of playing accurately.	B Steady pulse is somewhat maintained at a tempo characteristic of playing accurately.	C Steady pulse is at a tempo that is a work in progress.	D/F Steady pulse is absent throughout.
