Topic relavance	Poor No connection to assigned topic or relevance; little evidence of research.	Fair Some connection to topic; little research; but documentation is incomplete or inaccurate.	Good Connection to topic is relevant and is clear; clearly used at least 3 sources for research with accurate citation.	Excellent Connection to content goes above and beyond; More than 3 sources for research
Creativity	Poor Little evidence of creativity, time or effort displayed in project.	Fair Minimal use of color, imagination, or thought in developing the project.	Good Visual display uses color, pictures and imagination.	Excellent Highly original ideas, excellent use of design, color, artistic planning.
Presentation	Poor Does not demonstrate knowledge of the project and process of completion. Uses little energy.	Fair Shows basic understanding of the process of completing the project and the details of the presentation	Good Presentation is accurate and complete and done with enthusiasm.	Excellent Original presentation of the content and material. Student clearly demonstrates a passion for the topic.
Written component	Poor Does not include anything about the historical significance of the culture or civilization or else the information is not accurate.	Fair Little evidence of original thinking about the historical significance of a culture.	Good Demonstrates thoughtful ideas about the historical significance of a culture.	Excellent Well-thought out and research supported evidence of the historical significance of the culture/civilization.
