creativity	Not Attempting 0 1 2 Student did not make an attempt at a design that was interesting	Beginning 3 4 5 Students somewhat attempted to make a unique design but it was similar to many others.	Proficient 6 7 8 Students attempted to make a unique design but it did not stand out among the others.	Advanced 9 10 Students utilized prior and new knowledge of design and color to create a unique artwork with original positives and negatives.
Neatness/Technique	Not Attempting 0 1 2 Students obviously did not take their time completing tasks. They are messy and they did not clean up.	Beginning 3 4 5 Students half way attempted to clean up but they have smudges and marks on papers.	Proficient 6 7 8 Students did their personal best to clean up but there are some places that are not perfectly neat.	Advanced 9 10 Students took time to neatly glue each piece and there is no glue or pencil where it should not be.
Followed Directions	Not Attempting 0 1 2 Students did not follow directions at all.	Beginning 3 4 5 Students did not follow my directions and very few pieces were cut and flipped	Proficient 6 7 8 Student tried to follow any suggestions and cut equal amounts of colored paper but it is still un balanced	Advanced 9 10 Student created a well balanced design where they have equal amounts of each color paper distributed
