Vincent Van Gogh Painting
Water Color Painting
Using color theory and the fundamentals of design, students created a replica of a Vincent Van Gogh painting. Specific painting techniques, art mediums and concepts were implemented to achieve desired intentions. Students develop artistic skills, confidence and craftsmanship in the execution of these processes. Students also should demonstrate initiative, originality, commitment to the project and openness in their ability to critically think in the creation of their work.

Minimal Effort
Student needs to work on knowledge of color theory, preplanning and controlling paint application. Evidence of ragged and/or uneven edges throughout the painting.
Fair
Evidence of planning is clear and the composition is well balanced, but the painting is missing elements. The student needs to work on paint application and color theory.
Good
The composition is visually well balanced. The student has worked to improve their skill set over the course of the assignment.
Excellent
Application of paint is preplanned and done in a logical, sequential manner. The student has painted at an Art I level or beyond and has continued to improve painting skill set.
