This rubric will be used to tell you how you will be graded on keeping a notebook of all the work you do in class. You must keep a notebook of work you do during literature circles. This Rubric will assess how completely and efficiently you have kept your assignments, as well as how well the work has been done.

Notebook must have each person's name on the front cover in large readable letters along with what period you attend this class. In addition, there should be a piece of artwork, poetry, or something that links the notebook to the piece of literature it reflects. Creativity and/or neatness in appearance will be rewarded.

Notebook does not have your name or period written on the front of the notebook. No thematic link.

Notebook has your name but not the period. Or has your name and period written in a sloppy fashion that is hard to read, with other marks, drawings, or looks messy. Weak thematic link.
Good

Notebook has your name and period on the front and looks ok, but could have been done neater and made to show more pride and ability. Thematic link is present, but lackluster.
Excellent

Notebook cover is neat and has easily readable letters to identify your name and period. There are no extra marks, nor poorly written words on the front. thematic link is clever and well-suited. The It looks professional
