Student is able to create complete, grammatically corrrect sentences that make sense in term of word order and tenses.

Student does not use appropriate grammar, causing the sentence to be unclear.

Student has a grasp on correct grammar allowing the sentences to make sense even if grammar isn't 100% correct.

Student has correct grammar with few or no errors making the sentences very clear.

Student tends to use one sentence length and does not use varying sentence structure.
Fair
Can see an awkward attempt at varying sentence length and structure.
Good
Can see clear variety of length and language that makes sense to the reader.
