Friendly Fractions Friendly Fractions For this activity, students will create projects based on fractions. Students will demonstrate their knowlegde of fractions and fractional parts. Rubric Code: M6BC3B By mmvwsmith Ready to use Public Rubric Subject: Math Type: Presentation Grade Levels: K-5

Friendly Fractions -Students will be graded in percentages rather than points.
	1.) Poor 5 pts	2.) Fair 10 pts	3.) Good 15 pts	4.) Excellent 25 pts	Points Earned 0 pts
1.) Content 25 % -Did the student show understanding of the content?	1.) Poor -The student showed no understanding of the content. -(simple fractions: numerator/denominator)	2.) Fair -The student showed vague understanding of the content. -(simple fractions: numerator/denominator)	3.) Good -The student showed a basic understanding of the content. -(simple fractions: numerator/denominator)	4.) Excellent -The student showed excellent understanding of the content. -(simple fractions: numerator/denominator)	Points Earned /25
2.) Accuracy of work 25 % -Did the student perform the operations accurately?	1.) Poor -The students project was incomplete	2.) Fair -The students project did not show forms of fractions.	3.) Good -The students project displayed fractional parts, but the student couldn't discuss what they did.	4.) Excellent -The students project showed fractional parts and the student was able to discuss their project.	Points Earned /25
3.) Effort 25 % -Did the student's project show that they put forth thought and effort?	1.) Poor -The student did not complete a project	2.) Fair -The student project was not well thought out...no creativity.	3.) Good -The students project showed some thought and some creativity	4.) Excellent -The students project showed lots of thought and lots of creativity.	Points Earned /25
4.) Oral Presentation 25 % -Did the student presented confidently? -Did the student make eye-contact with the class?	1.) Poor -The student did not present at all. -The student did not make eye-contact with the class.	2.) Fair -The student did not present with confidence. -The student did not make eye-contact with the class (constant focus on their project).	3.) Good -The student presented with confidence. -The student made brief eye-contact with the class (majority of the focus was on their project).	4.) Excellent -The student presented with confidence. -The student made almost constant eye-contact with the class (briefly looked at their own project).	Points Earned /25 *Total Points Earned: /100
