Timing 4/4 time. (1,2,3,& 4)	Ew Student does not move in time with the movement at all.	Okay.... Student gets off beat quite a few times and has trouble recovering the timing.	Yay! Student mostly moves on the beat of the music; easily recovers if he/she gets off count.	Whoo hoo!!! Student consistently moves on the beat of the music throughout the entire dance.
Execution of Steps Forward Basic Corte Promenade Arm Thingy Tango Rock Ladies Turn	Ew Student almost never executes steps correctly; gets confused easily.	Okay.... Student sometimes executes steps correctly. Turning box step is confusing and not mastered.	Yay! Student mostly correctly executes steps correctly. Students can easily recover if there is a misstep.	Whoo hoo!!! Student flawlessly executes all steps in the waltz.
Presentation Dancers maintain a still and upright dance frame with their partner while dancing.	Ew NO.	Okay.... SORT OF.	Yay! SORT OF.	Whoo hoo!!! YES.
Focus Dancers maintain focus with their partner and avoid looking at the floor.	Ew NO-dancer looks at the floor the entire time.	Okay.... SORT OF.	Yay! SORT OF.	Whoo hoo!!! YES.
Partner Communication	Ew There is no communication between partners. Many toes are stepped on and there is a lot of confusion.	Okay.... Leading is a group effort.	Yay! Men: Lead their partners with minimal errors (1-2) Ladies: Attempt to let their partners lead with minimal errors (1-2)	Whoo hoo!!! Men: Easily and smoothly lead their partner through the waltz. Ladies: Easily and smoothly respond to their partners lead.
Smooth Transitions Dancers use plie to accomplish smooth gliding transitions transitions.	Ew Student almost never transitions smoothly from step to step.	Okay.... Students transitions are sometimes smooth. Some transitions are choppy.	Yay! Student mostly transitions smoothly from step to step. There might be 1 transition that is rough.	Whoo hoo!!! Student always transitions smoothly from step to step seamlessly integrating the dance.
Dancer Creations Dancers have created 4 additional sets of tango that are creative, smooth and well rehearsed.	Ew Clunky.	Okay.... General and basic.	Yay! Original and creative with only 1-2 bumpy transitions.	Whoo hoo!!! Original, creative and smooth.
