Book Report Rubric Book Report Rubric The student will write a book report using worksheets provided on a book a book chosen by the teacher. They will need to complete each worksheet provided on: story structure, drawing conclusions, vocabulary, sequencing, and compare and contrast. The students must also rate their book by giving an opinion of the book. The students must include a cover and a picture from the book. Book Report
	Excellent 4 pts	Good 3 pts	Fair 2 pts	Poor 1 pts
Content of Report Report contains title, authors name,type of book,main characters, setting, and summary of the book.	Excellent The report covers all of the necessary content in detail (6 of the required parts).	Good The report covers most of the necessary content in detail: (at least 4 of the required parts).	Fair The report covers most of the necessary content in detail: (at least 2 - 3 of the required parts).	Poor The report does no cover all the necessary material.
Grammar and Spelling	Excellent The report has very few minor errors in grammar, punctuation, or spelling, or no errors at all.	Good The report has few minor errors in grammar, punctuation, or spelling.	Fair The report has many errors in grammar, punctuation, and/or spelling.	Poor Ther report has not been checked for any grammar, punctuation, and/or spelling errors.
Title Page/Neatness	Excellent The report is written very neatly. Title page shows a detailed effort.	Good The report is written or typed with some messiness. Title page is complete at a satisfactory level.	Fair The report is poorly written or typed. Title page is messy or hardly done	Poor The report is messy. No title page.
Opinion	Excellent An opinion of the book is given with strong reasons/ support.	Good An opinion of the book is given with weak reasons.	Fair An opinion is given without reasons.	Poor No opinion was given.
