Student cannot determine the correct answer without extensive help from his/her teacher.

Student does have an idea of how to solve the problem but frequently comes up with an incorrect answer.
Student does incorporate math tools but does not use them efficiently.
Student is able to determine the correct answer with minimal help from his/her teacher.
Good
Student's plan to solve the problem leads to the correct answer or has the ability to lead to the correct answer when implemented properly.
Student understands how to use math tools to efficiently solve problems.
Student is able to determine the correct answer in a minimal amount of time with limited help from his/her teacher.
Comprehension
Poor
Student shows little or no understanding of the materials covered.
Work shows evidence of faulty reasoning. Teacher intervention is necessary.
Fair
Student is able to partially complete task but shows signs of misunderstanding or misinterpretation.
Student did incorporate the use of math tools, however incorrect answers were provided suggesting he/she did not use the correct methods.
Some teacher interaction is required to further understanding.
Good
Task was completed correctly and efficiently.
Student shows comprehension of material and can explain his/her reasoning.
Little to no teacher supervision is required for task completion.
