Accomplished The writer demonstrates a strong ability to depict a reasonable sequence of events and a logical conclusion.	Developing The writer has some ability to show a reasonable sequence of events and/or a logical conclusion.	Emerging The story tends to lose focus and/or ends with an unrealistic conclusion.	Inadequate The story lacks either a reasonable sequence of events or logical conclusion.
Creativity/Imagination	Exemplary The story contains many creative techniques that contribute to the reader's enjoyment. The story exhibits originality and imagination.	Accomplished The story contains some creative techniques that contribute to the reader's enjoyment. The student really uses imagination.	Developing The story contains a few creative techniques that contribute to the reader's enjoyment. The student uses some imagination.	Emerging The story contains few creative details and/or descriptions, but they distract from the story. The student tries to some imagination.	Inadequate There is little evidence of creativity in the story. The student does not seem use much imagination.
Grammar/Punctuation	Exemplary Student conforms to all standards of English through proper usage of punctuation, sentence structure, and agreement.
