	Level 1 (50-59%) 1 pts	Level 2 (60-69%) 2 pts	Level 3 (70-79%) 3 pts	Level 4 (80-100%) 4 pts
Organization	Level 1 (50-59%) The graphic organizer is incomplete, and there no structure in the essay.	Level 2 (60-69%) The graphic organizer is completed with little detail and there is little evidence of the essay format.	Level 3 (70-79%) The graphic organizer is completed and has been edited. The essay format is clearly followed, with good sequence by including transition phases that fix.	Level 4 (80-100%) The graphic organizer is completed with great detail, and has been edited with great care. Essay format is utilized, with excellent sequence and flow by including desciptive transitional phases that are powerful.
Spelling and Grammer	Level 1 (50-59%) There are major errors in spelling and grammar.	Level 2 (60-69%) There are many errors in spelling and grammar.	Level 3 (70-79%) There are few errors in spelling and grammar.	Level 4 (80-100%) There are no spelling or grammar errors.
Content	Level 1 (50-59%) Rarely demonstrates use of information, including defining terms. Never decribes elements in detail and discussing it's importance. There is no voice, quotes, or specific examples to support opinion.	Level 2 (60-69%) Sometimes demonstrates use of information, and defining terms. Decribes some elements in detail and discussing it's importance. There is little voice, quotes, or specific examples to support opinion.	Level 3 (70-79%) The critique includes all components (introduction of book/author, summary, critique, conclusion)	Level 4 (80-100%) The critique includes all components (introduction of book/author, summary, critique, conclusion)
Length	Level 1 (50-59%) The critique is less than 1 page	Level 2 (60-69%) The critique is 1 page in length.	Level 3 (70-79%) The critique is 1-2 pages in length.	Level 4 (80-100%) The critique is 1-2 pages in length.
Picture/drawing	Level 1 (50-59%) The critique does not include a drawing.	Level 2 (60-69%) The critique includes a simple drawing or picture that somewhat relates to the critique.
