Measuring the Perimeter of Polygons Measuring the Perimeter of Polygons Students used the digital geoboard app on iPads to create at least 2 polygons, measure side lengths, model perimeter, and collaborate with a partner. Polygons/Perimeter

Create polygons	Far Below Student was unable to create polygons.	Approaching Standard Student was able to create basic polygons such as a square and rectangle only on grid paper.	Meeting Standard Student was able to create two basic polygons on the digital Geoboard app on their iPad correctly.	Exceeding Standard Student was able to create polygons that have more than four side lengths correctly on their geoboard app.
Measuring perimeter	Far Below Student was unable to measure any of the polygon's side lengths.	Approaching Standard Student was able to measure the perimeter of one polygon correctly. Student may or may not have labeled side lengths correctly.	Meeting Standard Student was able to measure the perimeter of at least two different polygons correctly on digital geoboard. Student showed work using text box or crayon tool to calculate perimeter.	Exceeding Standard Student was able to measure the perimeter for polygons that have more than four sides. Students used more than one geoboard tool to show work.
Modeling Perimeter	Far Below Student was unable to model perimeter of any polygons.	Approaching Standard Student was only able to model the perimeter of at least two polygons using grid paper, pencil, or tiles.	Meeting Standard Student was able to model the perimeter of two polygons using one band for the length of each unit.	Exceeding Standard Student was able to model the perimeter of all polygons using different colored bands for the length of each unit.
Participation	Far Below Student had no participation in classroom activities and discussions. Student showed little or no clear understanding of polygon characteristics or concept of perimeter.	Approaching Standard Student had average participation in classroom activities and discussions. Student showed vague understanding of polygon characteristics or concept of perimeter.	Meeting Standard Student had average participation in classroom activities and discussions. Student had an adequate understanding of polygon characteristics or concept of perimeter.	Exceeding Standard Student had high participation in classroom activities and discussions. Student had a high understanding of polygon characteristics or concept of perimeter.
