Creativity	Level 1 The piece shows little or no evidence of original thought.	Level 2 The student’s work lacked sincere originality and copied the modeled example.	Level 3 The student’s work demonstrated originality.	Level 4 The student’s work demonstrates a unique level of originality.
Neatness	Level 1 Artwork does not demonstrate care any neatness or care.	Level 2 Artwork is somewhat messy. Student needs to work towards taking more care with the project.	Level 3 Artwork is reasonably well cared for, but needs several more finishing touches.	Level 4 Artwork is clean, cared for, and created with great attention to detail.
Effort	Level 1 The student did not finish the work in a satisfactory manner.	Level 2 The student finished the project, but it lacks finishing touches or can be improved upon with a little effort.	Level 3 The student’s work clearly shows effort, yet more could have been done.	Level 4 The student gave an effort far beyond the requirements of the assignment.
Responsibility	Level 1 The student’s artwork was not completed in a timely manner or lost.	Level 2 The student’s artwork was not well maintained (e.g., crumpled, folded, rolled, spilled paint, etc.)	Level 3 It is evident the student tried to take care to present their best work and tried to maintain its integrity.	Level 4 The student took great care of their artwork. It has clean, precise edges. It was not rolled or damaged.
