Football Passing/Catching

Grip: 25 % all fingers on top, thumb underside.	Needs Improvement Uses both hands, can not hang on to ball with one hand.	Developing Hangs on with one hand, but needs to choke up on the ball to gain more control of ball.	Proficient Uses four fingers on top, thumb on underside. Able to keep control of ball and successfully chokes up on the ball to keep control of the football.	Advanced Four fingers on top of football and thumb underside of ball. Easily can hang onto ball with one hand. Very confident.
Arm position: 25 % prior to the throw.	Needs Improvement Does not remember or attempt to get the arm back in the "L" position.	Developing Gaining more consistency in getting the throwing arm back in the "L" position.	Proficient Stretches back and creates an "L" with the arm bent at 90°'s.	Advanced Stretches back and creates an "L" with the arm bent at 90°'s. Able to get arm back quickly, and maintains a high level of confidence. Prior experience allows for more of a natural progression on this skill.
Stance/step 25 %	Needs Improvement Does not remember or attempt to step forward with the completion of the throw.	Developing Gaining more consistency on taking a small step forward.	Proficient On completion of the throw, takes one small step forward.	Advanced On completion of the throw, takes one small step forward. Looks natural and assists the player to get more distance on the throw.
Release of Ball 25 %	Needs Improvement Releases somewhere other than at target. Non throwing hand does not assist and does not finish behind the thrower	Developing Gaining consistency, but fails to release at the target release point. Non throwing hand does not assist in the release.	Proficient Throwing hand extends forward and releases at Target, while the non throwing hand is extended and balanced straight behind them	Advanced Throwing hand extends forward and releases at Target, while the non throwing hand is extended and balanced straight behind them. Extremely consistent, looks natural. nice spiral throw.
